The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi has greeted the people on occasion of various festivals across the country.

In a series of tweets PM said, “We are celebrating various festivals across India and also the start of a New Year as per our traditional calendar. Greetings on Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba. May these auspicious occasions bring good health, happiness and prosperity in our lives.

We are marking these festivals at a time when our nation is battling the COVID-19 menace. The celebrations will not be like they are usually but they will strengthen our resolve to overcome our circumstances. May we keep working to fight COVID-19 together.”

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind in his message on the eve of Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Cheti Chand, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba has said: –

“On the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Cheti Chand, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba to be celebrated on March 25^th, this year, I extend my greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens.

These festivals of the spring season, represent multiple hues of our cultural grandeur and rich heritage of our country. And these festivals are also a part of our glorious traditions sharing one’s happiness and fortune with others.

May these festivals strengthen the bonds of amity and fraternity amongst our fellow citizens. Also, people must fight the COVID-19 virus with full determination. Maintain social distancing and all other precautions while celebrating the festivals”.

The Vice President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu has wished the people on the eve of Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Chaitra Sukladi, Sajibu Cheiraoba, Navreh and Cheti Chand which mark the beginning of a new year in different parts of India. On this occasion, he called upon the people to adopt a hygienic way of life and support the government in combating the Coronavirus.

Referring to the ancient Indian values of ‘share and care’, Shri Naidu hoped that everyone will do whatever it takes to alleviate human suffering and hardship by providing support to those who need it.
