In honour of National Nursing Week, Mayor Frank Scarpitti and the City of Markham are calling on everyone to turn on their porch lights on Thursday night, illuminating the fantastic job our nurses are doing.

“Never before have we needed them more,” says Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “They are selfless, kind, skilled and caring. We thank them for always going above and beyond while putting themselves at risk. To all the brave nurses, we say thank you for all that you do, now as we battle the COVID-19 pandemic and every day.”

The City of Markham is proud to proclaim Nursing Week in honour of these medical professionals who do so much for us. Let’s shine a light and show them we care.
