Professor’s Lake, Eldorado Park outdoor pool, and wading pools to reopen on July 14!
Professor’s Lake will reopen on July 14, weather permitting, and pending water quality testing results, as conducted by the Region of Peel. Visitors must reserve a three-hour timeslot to visit the beach by calling 905.874.2350, starting July 13. The boathouse will remain closed until further notice.
The following safety measures will be in place.
• Markers will be installed to designate physically distanced beach areas for individual/group use. All beach areas are two metres (six feet) apart.
• Staff attendants will be on site to guide visitors to their reserved beach areas and to monitor physical distancing.
• COVID-19 signs will be posted to inform residents of restrictions and guidelines and ensure appropriate flow of traffic.
• Hand sanitizer units will be installed throughout the facility and around the beach area. Sanitization of all high-frequency touch points in the lobby, beach lobby, washrooms, and patio will take place at regular intervals.
• Change room facilities will not be available on site and residents are advised to arrive dressed for their day at the beach.
Eldorado Park Outdoor Pool
Eldorado Park outdoor pool will reopen on July 14, weather permitting, and pending pool temperature.
The following safety measures will be in place.
• COVID-19 signs and hand sanitizer units will be installed throughout the facility and all touch points will be regularly sanitized throughout the facility.
• Floatation devices and pool toys will be temporarily removed and participants are encouraged to bring their own necessary equipment, such as flutter boards, flippers, and goggles. Visitors will have access to lifejackets as requested.
• Change room facilities will not be available on site and visitors are advised to arrive dressed for their day at the pool.
• Every other sink and washroom stall will be closed in washrooms that are available to the public to encourage physical distancing.
Wading Pools
Wading pools will be open to the public starting July 14, weather permitting. The City operates three wading pools located at Gage Park, Chinguacousy Park and Balmoral Recreation Centre. COVID-19 signs will be posted to inform residents of restrictions and guidelines. Staff will be present on site to remind residents about aquatic guidelines and physical distancing measures.
