A family-friendly little restaurant in a semi-commercial area of Mississauga gives people a taste of Italy outside of Italy. Not only with the food but with the ambience and waiters. It is casual, informal and cozy.
Yesterday, we had been there for a Friday night hangout and there was a live band playing quietly in the background. Being vegetarians, we had bruschetta for starters, which made a crispy complement to our main entrees. The Penne Arrabiata – a delightful pasta bursting with the flavors of garlic, oregano, basil, cheese of lots of veggies, which I had for my main was superb! It was spicy but not too overwhelming!
For the quality and quantity of what you’re getting here, La Scala’s dishes are reasonably priced. Pastas which our kids ordered were also sizable enough and we had to box a portion of it home. The pasta section of the menu is not the only area where the restaurant shines!
The real desserts were out of this world too! For someone who doesn’t love very sweet desserts I enjoyed their tiramisu. This creamy, slightly sweet coffee-soaked sponge cake was finished with a dusting of cocoa powder on top. Very authentic!
Would I come back here with any other number of guests? Most certainly. Have been here on several occasions and will continue to do so! The reason being, I think the same thing every time I come here, and that’s been for a very long time😊
The shimmer of a certain metropolitan glamour makes it a quintessentially Italian address, especially because it is open daily for lunch and dinner. The next time you are looking for a good Italian restaurant in Mississauga for fine dining, La Scala is the place to be!
