#LATINGRAMMY
The Latin Recording Academy® recently announced the 2020 Leading Ladies of Entertainment. This initiative honors and recognizes professional and socially conscious women within the arts and entertainment fields who have made significant contributions, inspiring the next generation of female leaders. Given the challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s honorees will be acknowledged during a virtual ceremony on Nov. 17.
The annual Leading Ladies of Entertainment event is not only an opportunity for The Latin Recording Academy to recognize and highlight the work of incredible women, but also serves as a platform to raise funds for the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation®. A portion of the proceeds earned from corporate sponsorships will go toward a scholarship for a young woman interested in studying music.
The 2020 Leading Ladies of Entertainment recipients are:
- Selena Gomez, chart-topping recording artist, actress, film producer and social activist
- Gloria “Goyo“ Martínez, singer, producer and cofounder of ChocQuibTown
- Angela N. Martinez, Esq., entertainment attorney
- María Elena Salinas, broadcast journalist, news anchor and author
Two-time Latin GRAMMY winner and GRAMMY nominee, singer, songwriter and actress Erika Ender — who was one of the 2017 Leading Ladies of Entertainment — will host.
