Usher in Spring! Cleaning is a breeze!

March is the month to welcome in a fresh new season, after long, cold winters with long, deep, and clean breaths. So, Spring is almost here and we are SO ready for it!

Here’s some fun ideas to tackle the ‘Spring Cleaning’ task ahead of us!

To begin with, try to prioritize each space by what would give you the most satisfaction to have organized. It could be something large like your master bedroom closet, or something as small as the junk drawer in your kitchen cabinet. Then take everything out from that specific section. Once you have everything in front of you, it’s far easier to see what you want to keep and what you want to discard.

Now categorize all the items that you’re retaining. For instance, if you are working on your home office, categorize piles of paper into things like business, taxes, mail, pending projects, etc.

Put things back on the shelf, in the drawers, hung in the closet, etc. The rule of thumb is that functionality and logic must come first, and the style comes as a close second. For instance, if you are working on a pantry, make sure you logically think through each shelf to determine where snacks go versus where cans go and then take the time to make sure everything is lined up and styled accordingly. Divide and conquer!

It’s also important not to neglect our indoor plants while we’re at it. Besides providing your in-home greenery with sunlight, water and nutrients, you need to keep them clean as well. A layer of dust can clog a plant’s pores and affect photosynthesis. In some instances, you can just set your plants outside on a rainy day to clean them up.

Last but not the least, clean the cleaning supplies.

Now usher in a period of renewal and reset! Rejoice and rejuvenate!
