Markham’s biggest annual youth festival is back – and this year’s Markham Youth Expo, presented by York University is even bigger! From May 1 to 7, join leading astronomy professor Paul Delaney, Humboldt Bronco survivor and best-selling author Kaleb Dahlgren, innovation expert David Kwok, and artists and entrepreneurs, for 4 full days of online events, learning, competition, networking and awards. Saturday, May 1 – Day 1: Jump stART
Pick up new skills through workshops and classes. Out dance, out sing and out play your way to win the Arts Xplosion competition! And vote for your favourite artwork in the Ingenium digital art gallery.
Sunday, May 2- Day 2: Expo-lore
Explore astronomy, dinosaurs, zoology, and the environment. Listen to featured guest speaker Professor Paul Delaney from York University, a leading expert in the field of Astronomy. He was most recently featured on Global News to talk about the Mars Ingenuity mission.
Thursday, May 6 – Day 3: The Hangout
Network and socialize the people of all ages across Markham and be inspired by Homboldt Bronco survivor, best-selling author of “Crossroads”, and founder of Dahlgren’s Diabeauties, Kaleb Dahlgren.
Friday, May 7 – Day 4: Celebrating Markham!
Learn about startups and innovation in a Q & A with David Kwok, the director of YSpace, and Markham entrepreneurs. Close the week with the winners of the 2021 Markham Mayor’s Youth Awards presented by Mayor Frank Scarpitti.
