Cricket athletes from the Sunrise Cricket Club in
Kitchener/Waterloo are invited to participate in a friendly match against some of
Brampton’s best players at Mayor Patrick Brown’s Brampton Cricket Showcase on
Saturday, Sept. 18.
The event, which runs from 7 – 11 p.m., will be held under the lights at Teramoto Park, the
first fully lit Cricket pitch in Canada.
Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown invited Kitchener Mayor Berry Vrbanovic, Waterloo
Mayor Dave Jaworsky, and MPP Mike Harris Jr. to participate alongside players from the
Sunrise Cricket Club to experience cricket in Brampton. The team from Brampton will
consist of players from the Brampton Cricket League and the Brampton Etobicoke District
Cricket League.
Teramoto Park, located at 9056 Chinguacousy Rd. Brampton, is a unique facility. Built in
2013 and equipped with LED lights in 2019, Teramoto Park features:
· The first LED-lit-full-size cricket field in Canada;
· Spectator seating for 100;
· Digital scoreboard installed in 2020; and,
· A grass field composed of one artificial synthetic pitch and six grass pitches. The grass
pitches were installed in 2020 and opened for play in 2021.
