CICS Income Tax Clinics for Newcomers and Low-Income Families
Here comes the income tax season again! In order to help newcomers and low-income
families file their 2021 income tax returns, Centre for Immigrant and Community Services
(CICS), with the collaboration of CPA Ontario, will hold a series of Income Tax Clinics in
March & April 2022.
Eligibility criteria for those interested in this free service:
Have a valid SIN or ITN (Individual Tax Number)
Annual income not exceeding:
- Individual/Single: $40,000;
- Couple/single parent: $50,000;
- add $2,500 for each additional dependent
Investment income (Interest and dividends) less than $1,000 per family
No self-employment income; no income from rental/business/overseas assets/overseas
sources other than pension
Service not offered to deceased individuals, or people who have declared bankruptcy, or
who have capital gains or losses
Must be fully vaccinated (at least two COVID-19 vaccinations) and be able to provide proof
of vaccination

Location: Immigrant Resource Centre (2330 Midland Ave, Scarborough)

March 3, 8,10,15, 22, 24, 29 & April 5, (TUE) &19 (THUR) 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
March 16, 23, 30 & April 6 (WED) 6 pm – 9 pm
March 19 (SAT) 10 am – 4 pm
Language: English, Mandarin, Cantonese (Please bring your own interpreter if you need services
in other languages.)
Newcomers are required to bring their landing documents for attendance.
