CICS Income Tax Clinics for Newcomers and Low-Income Families
Here comes the income tax season again! In order to help newcomers and low-income
families file their 2021 income tax returns, Centre for Immigrant and Community Services
(CICS), with the collaboration of CPA Ontario, will hold a series of Income Tax Clinics in
March & April 2022.
Eligibility criteria for those interested in this free service:
 Have a valid SIN or ITN (Individual Tax Number)
 Annual income not exceeding:

  • Individual/Single: $40,000;
  • Couple/single parent: $50,000;
  • add $2,500 for each additional dependent
     Investment income (Interest and dividends) less than $1,000 per family
     No self-employment income; no income from rental/business/overseas assets/overseas
    sources other than pension
     Service not offered to deceased individuals, or people who have declared bankruptcy, or
    who have capital gains or losses
     Must be fully vaccinated (at least two COVID-19 vaccinations) and be able to provide proof
    of vaccination
    Service method: in person service
    Location: Immigrant Resource Centre (2330 Midland Ave, Scarborough)
    Dates and times:
     March 3, 8,10,15, 22, 24, 29 & April 5, (TUE) &19 (THUR) 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
     March 16, 23, 30 & April 6 (WED) 6 pm – 9 pm
     March 19 (SAT) 10 am – 4 pm
    Language:   English, Mandarin, Cantonese (Please bring your own interpreter if you need services
    in other languages.)

Newcomers are required to bring their landing documents for attendance.
