City partnering with the Brampton Sport Alliance to offer youth an opportunity to try sports, register for season
Calling all future athletes!
T
he City of Brampton, in partnership with the Brampton Sport Alliance, is once again hosting Sports Day in Brampton, Saturday, February 25 at the Save Max Sports Centre.
This flagship event offers an opportunity for young people to try a variety of sports on site to see which fits them best. They can also engage with program leaders and register for the upcoming season.
Nearly a dozen sports groups will be in attendance, offering information and demonstrations for spring and summer sports, such as baseball, lacrosse, soccer, track and field, hockey, football and basketball. All ages and all skill levels are welcome.
Those who attend will be given a passport and encouraged to collect stamps for each sport they try. Those who collect three stamps or more will be entered into a draw to win prizes. Sports Day in Brampton is a free community event and registration is not required.
“This is about so much more than sport. We know being part of a team builds resilience, creates a sense of belonging and teaches essential life skills. It’s critical in building a healthy and safe community for all, and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible at Sports Day in Brampton as we hope you find a new favorite hobby, with new opportunities and friends.”
