The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu in her message on the eve of Mahavir Jayanti has said:-

“On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, I convey my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all the citizens, especially the Jain community.

The birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir – the eternal symbol of “Non-violence and Compassion” gives us message of love and compassion. While preaching non-violence, renunciation, penance and forgiveness, Lord Mahavir gave us the mantra of “live and let live” and showed us the right path to live.

Let us adopt non-violence and truth in our conduct – in our mind, words and deeds – and pledge to build a glorious nation”.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, bowing to Bhagwan Mahavir on Mahavir Jayanti said that Bhagwan Mahavir showed the way to build a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous society.

The Prime Minister tweeted;

“Today is a special day, when we recall the noble teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir. He showed the way to build a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous society. Inspired by him, may we always serve others and also bring a positive difference in the lives of the poor and downtrodden.”
